THE REGENERATIVE COMMUNITIES NETWORK
Building on eight years of documenting exemplary regeneration projects through the Field Guide and exploring the principles and frameworks of regenerative economics at a larger scale, Capital Institute is collaborating with a group of practitioners around the world to launch the Regenerative Communities Network.
The Network’s goals are to support the development of rich, knowledge-sharing and skill-building networks within and across communities; increase regenerative capacity at the individual, organizational, community, bioregional and global scales; and help drive aligned capital toward regenerative initiatives. Regenerative communities are emerging in both urban and rural areas across every continent. The global Regenerative Communities Network honors and connects these efforts with a digital learning platform and long-term cycle of on-the-ground support. We invited our inaugural Regenerative Communities Network partners to introduce us to their bioregion. We asked each to describe the geography and natural assets that have shaped its cultural and economic history; the impacts of the extractive economy on those assets, both positive and negative; and how those assets could be redeployed in service of the regenerative economy. Here’s what they shared: |
